At Quana Travel, we believe travel should be stress-free, transparent, and exciting.
Below are answers to the most common questions clients ask before booking with a travel advisor.
1. Why should I use a travel advisor instead of booking online?
Booking online can be overwhelming and time-consuming. As your travel advisor, I cut through the noise, design trips around your needs, and often unlock exclusive perks (upgrades, credits, VIP amenities) through my partnerships with Fora Travel’s 8,000+ global suppliers. You’ll save hours of planning, avoid mistakes, and gain peace of mind knowing you have a trusted advocate before, during, and after your trip.
2. How much do your services cost?
My advisory services start at $250 for the Essentials Package, which covers trip planning, supplier coordination, and personalized itineraries. More complex trips (multi-country, groups, special occasions) may fall under higher service tiers ($500–$750+). This fee is paid upfront, is non-refundable once planning begins, and ensures that every detail of your trip gets expert attention.
3. Do you charge booking fees on top of supplier costs?
No. My planning fee is separate and transparent. All deposits and payments for travel (hotels, cruises, airlines, tours) are made directly to the suppliers. While I may use your payment details to confirm bookings, Quana Travel never holds client funds.
4. How do travel advisors like you get paid?
Two ways:
Planning Fee — paid upfront for my time, expertise, and service.
Commission from suppliers — hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators may pay me after you travel (this doesn’t affect your price).
This model ensures I’m compensated fairly while you still pay the same (or sometimes less) than if you booked on your own.
5. What kind of travel do you specialize in?
I focus on cruises, adventure travel, accessible travel, Arctic cruises, group trips, all-inclusive resorts, guided tours, and Disney vacations. My personal experience—living in Australia, growing up in Canada’s Arctic, exploring North America and Asia, and traveling with my fiancée who uses a wheelchair—gives me unique insight into creating stress-free, meaningful, and inclusive trips.
6. Can you book accessible travel?
Yes! Accessibility is one of my specialties. Whether it’s wheelchair-friendly accommodations, accessible transport, or customized excursions, I work with suppliers that understand and respect your needs. My personal experience as a caregiver makes me a strong advocate for travelers requiring extra support.
7. Do I still earn hotel or airline loyalty points if I book through you?
In most cases, yes. Many of my bookings can be tied to your loyalty programs, so you earn points and still receive the exclusive perks I can secure (such as free breakfast, upgrades, and resort credits).
8. Can you help with last-minute travel?
Yes, though last-minute planning requires additional effort. Bookings made within 45 days of departure may incur an expedited planning fee (+$200–$300), which aligns with standard industry practice.
9. What happens if something goes wrong during my trip?
That’s exactly why having a travel advisor matters. If flights get delayed, hotels overbook, or plans shift, you won’t spend hours on hold—I’ll step in to advocate for you and find solutions quickly. You’ll also have supplier confirmations and receipts for transparency.
10. Do I need travel insurance?
Yes—travel insurance protects your trip investment. Through Fora Travel, I work with Faye, a modern travel insurance provider offering medical coverage, trip cancellation/interruption, evacuation, and customizable add-ons. Insurance is highly recommended (and sometimes required) for peace of mind.
11. What if I need to cancel my trip?
11. What if I need to cancel my trip?
Supplier cancellation policies apply. Some may offer refunds, credits, or rebooking options; others may be stricter. I’ll explain cancellation terms upfront and advocate on your behalf if changes are needed. My planning fee remains non-refundable.
12. Can you plan trips outside Canada or the U.S.?
Absolutely! I plan international trips, from European tours and Japan/South Korea adventures to polar expeditions. Since every country has unique entry requirements, I’ll guide you through necessary documents, visas, and health protocols.
13. Do you only book luxury travel?
Not at all. While I can book high-end trips, my focus is on higher-value, stress-free travel. Whether that means an all-inclusive family getaway, a Disney trip, or a once-in-a-lifetime Arctic cruise, I design experiences around your goals—not just luxury status.
